Byron Nelson High School Senior Portraits | Fall & Spring Sessions for a Cross Country Senior

Senior year is filled with milestones, memories, and moments worth celebrating, and this Byron Nelson High School senior did exactly that with two beautiful portrait sessions, one in the fall and another in the spring. As a dedicated cross country athlete, she wanted senior portraits that captured not only her personality and style, but also the hard work and determination that shaped her high school experience.

Photographing seniors over multiple seasons is one of my favorite ways to tell the full story of senior year. From the excitement of the beginning of senior year in the fall to the celebration and anticipation of graduation in the spring, every session brings something unique.

Fall Senior Portrait Session

The first session took place during the fall, one of the most beautiful times for senior portraits in North Texas. Warm golden light, rich earthy colors, and cooler evenings created the perfect setting for relaxed and timeless portraits.

During the fall session, we focused on natural portraits that showcased her personality and confidence. Her outfits reflected her effortless style, and the scenery complemented the soft autumn colors perfectly. Fall sessions are always ideal for seniors involved in sports because schedules tend to be packed later in the year, especially for athletes balancing competitions, school, and college preparations.

As a cross country runner, she brought such energy and determination to the session. Even outside of competition, you could see the discipline and confidence that comes from being an athlete.

Spring Senior Portraits

The second session took place in the spring, just before graduation season. Spring senior sessions always feel exciting because seniors are preparing for the next chapter of life while reflecting on everything they accomplished throughout high school.

The spring session had a completely different look and feel from the fall portraits. With blooming greenery, brighter colors, and softer spring light, the images felt fresh, joyful, and celebratory. We incorporated more polished looks along with portraits that highlighted her accomplishments as a Byron Nelson High School senior and cross country athlete.

One of the best parts about splitting sessions into two seasons is the variety it creates. Seniors get multiple looks, different scenery, and a more relaxed experience without trying to fit everything into one day.

Including Athletics in Senior Portraits

I always encourage seniors to incorporate the activities and passions that helped define their high school years. For athletes, senior portraits become even more meaningful when they include the sports and accomplishments that shaped so much of their journey.

Cross country requires dedication, perseverance, and countless hours of training , qualities that deserve to be celebrated during senior year. Including subtle athletic elements and honoring that part of her story made these portraits even more personal and meaningful.

Terri Cage Photography creates customized senior portrait experiences throughout North Texas and the DFW area, including Byron Nelson High School seniors. Whether you want one session or multiple sessions throughout your senior year, every experience is designed to reflect your personality, interests, and accomplishments.

From athletes and artists to seniors with horses and everything in between, senior sessions are all about celebrating who you are during this once-in-a-lifetime season of life.

If you are looking for a Byron Nelson High School senior photographer for fall or spring senior portraits, now is the perfect time to start planning your session.

Southlake Texas Senior Portraits | Fall & Spring Senior Sessions

Senior year only happens once, so why choose just one season for your portraits? One of my favorite ways to create a truly unique senior photography experience is by photographing seniors twice , once in the fall and again in the spring. This Southlake Texas senior portrait experience gave us the best of both worlds and allowed us to capture every side of this exciting season of life.

As a North Texas senior photographer, I love helping seniors create sessions that feel personal and reflect their style, personality, and accomplishments throughout high school. Splitting sessions between fall and spring creates incredible variety in your final gallery while documenting your senior year from beginning to end.

Fall Senior Portraits in Southlake Texas

The first session took place during the fall when North Texas was filled with warm golden tones and beautiful evening light. Fall sessions in Southlake are always a favorite because the scenery creates such a timeless and classic look for senior portraits.

During the fall session, we focused on more casual outfits with rich seasonal colors that complemented the natural landscape perfectly. The softer sunlight and warm tones created images that felt relaxed, stylish, and authentic. Fall is also a wonderful time for seniors to get comfortable in front of the camera before spring activities and graduation excitement begin.

One of the biggest advantages of splitting senior sessions into multiple dates is the ability to include different styles and looks without feeling rushed. Seniors can have completely different outfits, hairstyles, and locations between sessions, giving them a gallery full of variety.

Spring Senior Portraits | Celebrating Graduation Season with Bluebonnets

The second session took place in the spring, just before graduation season. Spring senior portraits have an entirely different feel in North Texas. Everything is greener, flowers begin blooming, and there is so much excitement surrounding graduation and future plans.

For the spring portion of this Southlake senior session, we incorporated lighter colors, outfits that incorporate college choices and images that felt celebratory and polished. We can’t forget a white dress, that has become iconic for Senior girls. Spring sessions are perfect for cap and gown portraits, college apparel, or incorporating meaningful details from senior year activities and accomplishments.

By the time spring arrived, confidence in front of the camera came naturally, making the session even more relaxed and fun. Photographing seniors over multiple seasons also allows me to truly connect with them and create images that feel genuine and personal.
