Classes are seasonal and usually given January - March.
Basic Posing & Posing with Horses Class :
Help make your subject look better by learning basic posing skills. Learn the basic and small details to pose your model smoothly. Find out how different lenses, light and angles can affect the way your model looks. We will shoot outdoors, weather permitting, so dress accordingly. Models will be provided.
To give more one on one time with each student,
Class will be limited to 5. $250

Basic DSLR Class : Learn basic camera operations and functions. Learn what camera options you should use in certain lighting situations. You will learn the different camera settings your camera has and what all those buttons and symbols mean. Part II we will review basic camera operations and functions. Learn more about getting the correct color and exposure. If time allows- some time behind the camera.

Lightroom Basics & Workflow : Improve your workflow by learning to cull your images quickly, make simple exposure and color correction. Importing and exporting your images.

Starting Your Photography Business
We will cover what items that I wish I knew and the mistakes I learned from when I 1st started out.
Part I - Getting started- building a portfolio, networking, standing out, social media, pricing. What equipment to invest in and what not to waste money on.
Part II - Websites, marketing, customer service, sales and specialization.

Black Background Mini Workshop:
Spend the first part of the workshop finding the correct light. Learn up to three different methods, one to produce a soft light, one to produce more of a contrast using all natural light and if time allows, using studio lighting. Discover how to pose horses and get great expressions. Since a good part of getting a black background, the second part of the class will be post-production learning how to use lightroom and Photoshop to get the effect you want, all while developing your own style.
Participants NEED to have a good working knowledge of their camera and basic lightroom & Photoshop skills. If you are not sure I can send you questionnaire to help determine this.

NEXT CLASS: 10/12/19 9:30am - 1pm $249
Basic Photoshop Class: Learn how enhance your photos with Photoshop. We will cover the toolbar and other options. You will learn some of the more popular tools and how to use them. You will also learn about image size and basic file types. Raw file editing (Adobe Raw), layers, blending modes and masking will be covered. This will be hands on so you will need to have your computer with Photoshop loaded. If you do not have Photoshop, you can download a free 7 day trial before the class. Elements can be used, but not all tools may be available.

Sale Horse Photography Class: Learn the basic photography techniques for sale horse photography. We start out with some basic conformation so you understand why certain angles work. Learn the angles, light and backgrounds to help make your sale photos stand out! Class will be limited to 10.
