Equine Session Info
Plan
Once we’ve chosen a date, your retainer is paid, and the contract is signed—it’s time to plan! Your session may be booked weeks or even months in advance, and during that time, Terri is always available to answer any questions that come up.
Horse prep is by far the most common topic clients ask about. Since every equine session is unique, Terri will go over what kind of preparation is needed based on your specific goals. We’ll also discuss the types of images you’re looking for—whether that’s conformation shots, black background portraits, action images, or a little bit of everything.

Session
It’s all about your horse! You’ve envisioned this session, so be sure to share any ideas you have with Terri—this is your moment! Of course, Terri will bring plenty of her own ideas if you’re not sure where to start.
She’ll pose your horse for the most flattering angles, keeping breed standards in mind while also capturing a few creative, artistic shots. If your horse will be ridden or shown in liberty, those parts will be saved for the end of the session.
Terri has an efficient workflow designed to give you a wide variety of images in a short amount of time. The session flow will be planned ahead, but if we need to make changes on the day, we absolutely can.
After
Terri begins working on your images as soon as possible, and you can usually catch a sneak peek on social media not long after your session! Her editing style leans natural and true-to-life, but every now and then, an image inspires her to create something a little more dramatic and artistic. Depending on the season, turnaround times can be quick. Most collections include digital images, but if you're dreaming of wall art or an album, Terri would love to help bring those to life.
