Where are you located & what areas do you serve?

I am located in Ponder, Texas. Ponder is a small town in Denton County, just a short drive to the heart of the North Texas Horse Country. I photograph all over the North Texas area, but mainly in Denton, Dallas, Collin, Tarrant, Wise, Cooke, Johnson, Parker & Grayson counties. I am also willing to travel to other parts of the United States when requested & hired.

Please visit this page to Contact Terri and I will reach out to you to figure out dates and how to reserve your spot. If you need a weekend date, please book at least 3 months in advance. Weekdays are more flexible. I do not shoot on Sundays, unless I need it for a rain date.

How do I book?
How far out do I need to schedule?

When should I book for my senior session?

You can book any time your Senior year. Some start as early as the summer following their Junior year. If you plan on doing a memory ad in the back of your yearbook, be sure to check for deadlines. If you are wondering what month works best for you, please check out this blog post. Spring and fall sessions book months out, so book as soon as possible for the best dates.

When should I book my equine, equestrian or other outdoor session?

I love shooting year-round and even find it beautiful in the winter months when the tall grass is golden. Take your horse’s haircoat into consideration. If your horse is slick year-round or clipped in the winter or you love the fuzzy look, then any time of year will work.

You would be surprised what we can do in some of the toughest backgrounds. I am more concerned about light than anything. If you have a horse, I prefer to photograph where the horse is located as it is less stressful for everyone. I will ask for your location so I can check it out on Google Maps and get a feel for it. If you are very concerned or I think another location would work better, I do have some other options that you can find on my location page.

My location is not very scenic and I’m concerned about the appearance it will have in photos.

I will determine if we need to postpone if weather is not ideal for a photo session. I will not reschedule a cloudy day - cloudy days can make beautiful photos. Some of the reasons I may postpone a session:
1) Rain - Once the chance of rain goes above 40-50%, I start to take notice, but wait until 24 hours or less before we delay.
2) Wind - If we have high winds over 20 mph we might postpone. I keep it at 20 mph because we have so many high wind days, we possibly would be rescheduling to another high wind day.
3) Temp - If it is below 35 to 40 degrees, I will give the option to the client to reschedule. I can bundle up, but some of the clothing choices for the shoot may not work on a cold day. There are a couple other weather combinations that we might reschedule. If it snows and I can travel safely, we will shoot - after all how many opportunities do we get to have a session in the snow?

What happens if it rains or the weather is not favorable?

Yes! I have a horse that can be rented and I have a few other locations that rent their horse and locations out.

I don’t have a horse, but want photos
with a horse.
Is there a place
I can rent one?

They are not my specialty but I do photograph one or two weddings a year, but must be a current or past client. So book early, as they book almost a year or two in advance. I do love to photograph proposals, engagements and bridals, especially if horses or dogs are involved.

Do you photograph weddings?

I no longer have à la carte options, but you are welcome to add on to your collection or package.

Do I have to do a collection or
do you have
à la carte
options?

I charge actual expenses plus a per travel day fee. Fees must be paid before I schedule. These can be split with others. If it is a location I am traveling to on my own, fees may be greatly reduced.

What are your travel/mileage
fees?

Yes, you may make payments before your session. Balance will be due at time of session.

Can I make payments?

Bring as many as you want. Do keep in mind that clothing changes do take some of your time away from being in front of the camera. I recommend one outfit for every 1/2 hour of your session. I.e., if you have a 2 hour session, plan on 4 outfits. Be sure to check out items from my Client Style Closet that you are welcome to borrow.
